Riley Rudy is a writer-director based in Los Angeles, with a foundation built over two decades as a working actor before she stepped behind the camera. Originally trained in performance, Riley spent 23 years inside other writers' scripts before turning to her own material. She studied Theater with a minor in Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California and then was one of nine women selected for her MFA at Columbia University.

Riley has written and directed five short films: You Look So Good, Body Check, Dadness, URN, and Just For Today. Her work has screened across multiple festivals, including the Oscar-qualifying LA Shorts International Film Festival, DIFF Shorts, and the Montana Film Festival.

Riley writes and directs grounded, character-driven stories that blend drama with humor, mainly centered on women. Her work finds comedy in pain, and truth in the things left unsaid.

Riley is currently working on her debut feature film, Just For Today.
